It’s on!

Just got off the phone with Kim, manager of the Cherry Street Hideaway Pizza in Tulsa. Apparently, she knows very little about Oklahoma blogs, because she has offered her private dining room to host a gathering of Okie bloggers. Kim promises good food, beer, wine and free wi-fi.

Award winning Hideaway Pizza lays claim to having the oldest pizza establishment in Oklahoma and is rated #14 among Tulsa restaurants by Yahoo Travel. Any place rated above #14 would never have us, lest their ranking be threatened.

Hope to see you there!

Notice - the private dining area is limited to 60 people. But it would be neat to take over the whole restaurant.

Narrowing things down

Looks as if all the suggestions for a meeting location are in. Going by comments and emails, we should gather…

- in Tulsa.

- on/or about the early evening of Oct. 6

- at ?????
— semi-private area to accommodate 30-40 people
— provides alcohol
— Wi-fi

Hideaway Pizza
and
The Blue Dome Diner

may fit all those requirements. I”m not sure about the availability of alcohol at the Blue Dome Diner though. Hideaway Pizza offers beer and wine.

If anyone has a better place in Tulsa, now’s the time to speak up. Otherwise I say we go for one of the above.

Do it again?

This blog is for the purpose of planning a simple get-together for Oklahoma bloggers. Many people attending last year’s Round-up indicated interest in holding another such gathering.

Even though they were well received, I see no need to repeat the workshops offered last year and therefore did not plan a similar conference. However, a simpler social event might be in order.

Bloggers interested in attending another Round-up should indicate their support here and throw out some ideas for meeting places. A meeting in late September would allow the inclusion of an Okie Blog Awards ceremony.

In solidarity,
Mike Hermes
