The new Miss Oklahoma is no novice when it comes to beauty contests.

Jennifer Berry, a senior at the University of Oklahoma majoring in elementary education, was crowned Miss Oklahoma 2005 Saturday night.

Berry, Miss Grand Lake, was among 43 contestants from across the state to compete for the title. Berry won after performing a ballet to the song “Within” during the talent portion of the competition.

Miss Berry has been in the pageant game for a while and though she didn’t change her platform of intolerance to drunk driving these past few years,

When she was 15 years old, Jennifer Berry’s friend and high school classmate died in a drunk driving incident that left Berry with a commitment to prevent more tragedies.

she wasn’t afraid to change her appearance.
