A person can find out a lot at Oklahoma’s Sex Offender Registry List. For instance, in just a few minutes, I found the following people who are guilty of aggravated sex offenses living in Oklahoma.

• There is 1 guy that wears a back brace.
• There are 2 guys with moles on their back.
• There are 10 white females with brown hair and brown eyes.
• There are 3 Asian males 20-30 years old and between five and six feet tall.
• There are 5 black males weighing around 180 lbs. with tattoos on their upper left arm.

And you’ll be happy to know that if you see anyone with the following characteristics, they are not a registered sex offender with the state of Oklahoma.

• An Arabic man wearing prescription glasses.
• An Hispanic female in a wheelchair.
• A black man with a gold tooth.
• A female with orange hair, pink eyes and an extra nipple.
• Any male missing a penis.

But even this extensive database doesn’t list all sex offenders in the state. Cities and counties have their own lists. Altus Detective Bob McGill explains.

So if citizens want to see the complete local registry, they must go to the city of Altus Web site or the Jackson County site to see the local lists. It isn’t even incumbent on the municipality to keep the list, McGill said. The law leaves it up to the city or county how to make the information available to the public.
