Inhofe lightens his load
May 23rd, 2005Sen. Inhofe may be reducing his heavy work load, but in turn feeling a little dejected over being rejected.

First it was removal as chair of the House-Senate conference committee that will finalize details in the massive pork-ridden Highway bill.
Congressman Don Young will lead the conference committee this year. Young is chairman of the House Transportation Committee.
Inhofe, who chairs the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, led the conference committee effort last year. Negotiations broke down over the cost of the package.
That probably doesn’t hurt as much though as being disinvited from appearing before one of America’s largest conservative Christian coalitions.
The Arlington Group, a Washington-based pro-family coalition of more than 60 organizations, disinvited Republican Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma from its recent meeting because of his conservative views on the environment.
… Inhofe was canceled because of pressure by Ted Haggard, president of the National Association of Evangelicals. He objected to Inhofe’s appearance because the Arlington Group focuses on marriage issues.
However, it is expected Sen. Inhofe will maintain scheduled engagements with groups such as the Flat Earth Society, The Greenhouse Gas Consortium, Tobacco for Healthy Lungs Alliance, and the Coalition Against Science and Evolution.
