Okie Blogger Round-up?

There are no plans to reproduce an Okie Blogger Round-up to the extent of last year’s event (workshops, etc.). However, if anyone has a suggestion for a simpler blogger get-together, let’s hear it. A 2007 Okie Round-up blog is available for your input.

    Let the campaign promises begin!

  2. OkieLawyer Says:

Where do we make the nominations?

  3. Mike Says:

An email address for nominations will be posted at the Okie Blog Awards website to be up soon.

  4. JetShack Says:

Stupid residency rules… why in the world should that matter… I’m going to start my own competition and call it

“Currently not living in Oklahoma but want an Okie Blog Award Awards”

It’s going to be HUGE!!! That should teach you a lesson!

  5. OkieLawyer Says:

While I am currently working outside the state, I am still a resident of the state. How does that affect me?

  6. Mike Says:

Since you did post on your blog while living in OK within 60 days prior to the start of nominations, you are legally an Okie blogger for 2007, OL.

If you really wanted an Okie Blog Award, Jet, you’d move to Oklahoma for a few days every July.

  7. Shelly Says:

    Yeah, JetShack.

You want an Okie Blog Award, you gotta come here and suffer along with the rest of us. If the heat doesn’t kill you, the local sportscasters might.

  8. JetShack Says:

I’ll take the heat in Tulsa vs the heat and humidity in Houston any day of the week. I’d also take OK weather in general where there are 4 distinct seasons vs the hot / unfreakingbelievably hot / hot /generally not as hot but still 80 in december seasons we get down here.

What about this… What if I visited the folks in June and posted from their house once? (I didn’t but I could say I did.)

Or what if I had a “guest” blogger on that made a post about how unbelievably Okierific I was… spreading the good news of OK everywhere I go. How I’m able to tie OK into nearly every conversation that pops up. Sort of an Okie missionary living among the infedels…

    (the sportscaster there do suck…)

  9. Redneck Diva Says:

I’ve tried to comment at the official Round-up site, but it won’t let me. So I’ll say it here, I’m all for meeting in Tulsa this time around! Last year, Tater and I drove home after the shindig and frankly, sleeping a couple of hours at the Stroud McDonald’s is not something I’d like to repeat this year, lol.

JetShack, I think you could be onto something….go for it! Living amongst the infidels should qualify you for sainthood anyway. :-)

  10. Shelly Says:

I thought living in Oklahoma *was* living among the infidels?
    *scratches head in puzzlement*

  11. Melessa Says:

    I’d come to Tulsa.

  12. D-USA Says:

I wouldn’t mind driving to Tulsa.

  13. Paul Tay Says:

Pimp This Blog Vote Paul Tay!

  14. goldie Says:

Today I put those ass-ugly dream catcher license plates on my car.

I am now officially an oklahomite.

  15. Shelly Says:

*hands goldie a sympathy card and a cookie*

  16. T Town Tommy Says:

I second the idea of having some type of get together in Tulsa instead of OKC for the awards this year. I will even show up in person!

  17. blythe Says:

so, people really go to this blogger thing? interesting.

  18. Thomas Jones Says:

I sure hated missing it last year, lots of folks turned out!
